In quarantine, I have been learning to expand my creative skills to the graphic design and typography realm. All the protests and riots are being aided along massively by creative work, and I think it's incredible to see. 

As a half-Black half-white woman who grew up in a time where there weren't a lot of mixed anything around, my relationship with my Blackness and race has always been complicated. I was lucky enough to be taught a decent amount of African American history in school, and one quote from Malcolm X I learned during AP U.S. History has always stuck with me. Not even the whole quote, but just 3 words: "By Any Means".

I feel like that phrase represents more than the sometimes violent fight for equality that is still going on today. "By Any Means" represents black resilience, the thing driving our community forward through all the setbacks and the pain.
